Chair of the Board of the Japan Film Commission
(assumed office in July 2025)

Graduated from the University of Tokyo Faculty of Law, and entered the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (formerly the Ministry of Home Affairs). He served in key positions in such areas as local finance, policy promotion, and regional development, and gained extensive experience in local governments including Aomori Prefecture and Osaka City (stationed in Dusseldorf, Germany).

After retiring, he has taken on leadership roles in local administration, public transportation, and university education. Currently, he serves as a counselor at the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications and as the Auditor of the Visual Industry Promotion Organization (VIPO). He is also involved in cultural activities in the fields of manga, anime, tourism, and dance.
